A Canadian couple named Jim and Kyla Neville based in Topley, British Columbia, is hoping a sign project they began in 2014 will curb the hunting of the region’s cow moose, BC Local News reports.
The area’s population of the antlerless moose has declined significantly in recent years, the Nevilles say. To that end, they have posted multiple billboards and more than a thousand signs hoping to convince the local government to stop the hunt.
The article says two more billboards are slated to go up this month. The cost of this phase of the project — including printing, construction and installment — is about $10,000.
