Battle-Tested Signmaker Sees ‘Pent-Up Demand’ in Post-COVID World

Michigan sign maker Ben Baker has seen a lot during his time in the industry. With more than two decades in business for himself, he likely has a good idea of when to expect the valleys and when to expect the peaks.

He started Baker Sign Company (Iron Mountain, MI) in 1999, changing gears and navigating sundry challenges along the way, The Daily News explains.

Baker has since expanded his services to include sign installation, vehicle wraps, sticker printing, bucket truck services, and even logo design.

The article says that during the pandemic the company was mostly limited to printing virus-related stickers and signs. After months of slowdown, however, he’s reporting an uptick in business — a hopeful signal for the industry writ large.

“Now that it’s starting to get back to normalcy, we’re busy,” said Baker. “I think there’s a lot of pent-up demand.

That long-awaited normalcy has Baker thinking about how to scale up and prepare for that forecasted demand.
